1. Executive Summary

Tena Brilliant Stars Community-Based Organization (CBO) is a grassroots initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of children from low-income communities in Kenya through access to quality education. We are seeking a total of $100,000 in funding to support our three key objectives:

1. Paying school fees for orphaned and vulnerable children.
2. Purchasing land to establish a permanent learning center.
3. Constructing the center that will serve as a safe, nurturing, and empowering space for learning.

Our mission is clear and urgent: to eradicate poverty through education and to give every child—regardless of their socio-economic background—a fighting chance at life. With your partnership, we can build the foundation for a better, educated, and self-sustaining future for these children.

2. Organizational Background

Founded with the belief that education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty, Tena Brilliant Stars CBO has been actively supporting children from underserved communities in Nairobi and its surrounding areas. We currently sponsor school fees, provide educational materials, furniture and offer mentorship to dozens of children who would otherwise not attend school. Our grassroots approach ensures direct impact and community involvement.

3. Problem Statement

In Kenya, many children from low-income families—especially orphans—struggle to access education due to financial constraints. Without support, these children are at risk of dropping out, falling into crime, child labor, or early marriage. The lack of educational infrastructure and consistent funding further compounds this issue, leaving many without the opportunity to change their futures.

4. Project Objectives

We seek funding to achieve the following:

1. School Fees Support – $20,000
   To pay school fees for at least 100 children annually, ensuring they remain in school and continue their education without disruption.
2. Land Purchase – $30,000
   To acquire a secure piece of land where a permanent learning center can be built. This will be a hub for learning, safety, and personal development.
3. Construction of Learning Center – $50,000
   To build classrooms, sanitary facilities, a small library, and administrative space. This center will provide a safe, permanent learning environment for orphans and other vulnerable children.

5. Expected Impact

• Over 100 children will gain uninterrupted access to education each year.
• A permanent learning center will serve as a beacon of hope for generations to come.
• The local community will benefit from employment opportunities during construction and operations.
• Long-term reduction in poverty through the empowerment of educated youth.
